Join Our Team as a Product Development Executive!
Are you passionate about food and eager to make a difference in the culinary world? Brakes, a proud part of Sysco GB, is on the lookout for a Product Development Executive to join our dynamic team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this exciting role, you’ll collaborate across various product categories within our merchandising function, working closely with procurement, technical, category, and supply chain teams to help achieve our business strategy goals.
Your journey will involve supporting the end-to-end development process, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently across categories. You’ll have the opportunity to shadow experienced development managers, gaining invaluable insights from brief to launch. Plus, you’ll be entrusted with managing a small product group within a category or supplier, paving the way for your ongoing development and career growth.
This position offers a hybrid working contract, allowing you to work 3 days a week in our Ashford, Kent office for team collaboration. Please note that you should be within a commutable distance and open to regular travel across the UK, with occasional trips to Europe and beyond.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in all food panels for both existing and new product development.
* Conduct product quality benchmarking.
* Organize sample requests for external customers.
* Create supplier-facing product development briefs for NPD & EPD.
* Review and validate initial supplier specifications.
* Track and monitor the end-to-end new line setup process.
* Support the implementation of Sysco product tiering.
* Own critical timelines by task for each project.
* Obtain food samples internally and externally for panels and benchmarking.
About You:
We’re looking for a true foodie with previous experience in food product development, whether in food technology, manufacturing, or the hospitality industry. You should have some project management experience and a keen commercial awareness, enabling you to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Your ability to work both independently and collaboratively will be key to achieving your targets.
To be considered, you must hold a valid, clean UK Driving License and have access to your own vehicle.
