The Associate BusinessProduct Owner role proactively assists with the management of journals roadmaps and features through analysis phases and planning iterations to meet business goals and to maximise the value of Journals. The role supports the delivery of change management and communication activity relating to Journals Product and feature delivery for internal and external audiences.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

* Working with the Director of Journals Product and wider Journals Product team to facilitate the effective delivery of key strategic projects within the business
* Support the Director of Journals Product and wider Journals Product team in managing change activities and coordinating impact and dependencies across platform, third-party services, and business change impacts arising from transition work
* Business ownership for specific assigned business as usual (BAU) capabilities/services for journals. Working with delivery, business, tech & ops, and third-parties to ensure continuity of service, effective triage of issues, and coordination of fixes, enhancements, and operational improvements.
* Work with relevant Product Managers to manage roadmap of developments to BAU capabilities/services to ensure they meet business needs over time
* Support business with information and internal & external communications about these capabilities/services
* Understand, align with, and contribute to the development of roadmaps to ensure that the work carried out by the Product team contributes to wider business and Product goals.
* Update product roadmaps and release plans in conjunction with wider delivery teams and with direction and input from Director of Journals Product and key stakeholders.
* Assist with the review, scheduling, communication and adjustment of planned work based on resource limitations or other conflicts.
* Understanding of key developments to answer queries that arise from internal and external stakeholders.
* Support Product Managers with change impact assessments. Assist with change communications by working with delivery and impacted teams to support new features and processes, ensuring business readiness for launch.
* Support the smooth-running of regular meetings, circulating agendas and creating accurate and timely minutes so that actions are clearly communicated.
* Interact and communicate effectively and appropriately with stakeholders throughout the business, including those at the most senior levels.
* General administration: first response point for emails from across the business, arrange meetings and conference calls, help to collate maintain documentation.
* Knowledge management: maintain up-to-date information on a variety of ticketing and knowledge management systems, including reporting back to requestors.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

* Experience supporting change and improvement work e.g. migrations, integrations, or system retirement.
* Proven success in junior product owner or a digital delivery role (product manager, project manager, business analyst, platform manager etc.), working with delivery teams.
* Experience of working with Agile methodologies and tools.
* Understanding of change management principles and best practice
* Good communication, networking and influencing skills within a matrix structure: to find a consensus and a way forward which balances needs.
* Knowledge of academic research and publishing landscape.
* Basic level of technical understanding, including software architectures, standards, development methods and practises.
* Competency with utilising and interpreting data, including generating reports and tracking KPIs.

£30,000 - £40,000 dependent on skills and experience
