Project Manager - Construction/Maintenance (Public Sector)
We are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for a Project Manager for an initial 3‑month contract with the possibility of extension, based mainly at their Belfast site.
Salary: GBP 37,280 – 42,839 per annum
Responsibilities
Assist the Senior Project Manager in delivering a programme of Revenue replacement and Capital works projects, manage contracts in accordance with NEC4 contracts, provide monthly programme and financial reports, performance manage contractors and conduct monthly meetings as required by the contract.
* Ensure the planned maintenance service is delivered in accordance with the Client’s policies and procedures, and develop these further on an ongoing basis to meet legislation and good practice.
* Lead the project management of complex and large projects to time, quality and budget targets with minimal supervision.
* Brief consultants and contractors, negotiate appointments and shape the project; act as a professional client with clear requirements and lead a team to achieve goals.
* Draw up realistic timetables and ensure projects meet time targets without compromising quality.
* Carry out feasibilities and option appraisals, maintaining systems to monitor project costs, and prepare reports and spreadsheets showing cost apportionment.
* Assess risks and progress schemes swiftly and systematically to overcome them; prepare and write reports on schemes for the Development Panel, Operations Committee and other internal approval panels.
* Ensure schemes are developed in accordance with agreed internal procedures, Tenants Services Authority requirements, the Association’s Project Procedures Manual and design brief, and that full compliance with the Association’s Standing Orders and financial procedures is maintained.
* Consult all stakeholders, including local authority representatives, tenants, staff representing the client, community representatives, etc.
Requirements
* Have a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline plus 1 year’s relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function.
* OR a BTEC Higher or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline plus 2 years’ relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function.
* OR demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning and at least 3 years’ relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function.
Remuneration
GBP 37,280 per annum, plus discount benefits.
