Role Overview: As an SEN TA, your role involves encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour, fostering a safe and inclusive classroom environment, and monitoring pupil progress to provide feedback that informs ongoing support. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN to help them access the curriculum. Assist teachers and SENCOs in implementing individual learning and behaviour plans. Help create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes confidence and wellbeing. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff to adapt support as needed. Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging motivation, independence, and resilience. Promote an inclusive classroom culture where all pupils feel valued and respected. Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant: Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs. Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to challenging behaviour. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young learners. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
