Summary Foundation apprenticeships are introductory courses that help young people get started in an industry. You do not need to have any specific qualifications or experience to apply. What you'll do at work Key Responsibilities: Machine Setup: Configure Samsung CP and SM machines according to product specifications, including programming feeders, selecting appropriate nozzles, and optimising machine settings for efficient operation. Component Loading: Load electronic components onto feeders and ensure proper alignment and orientation for accurate placement onto PCBs. Machine Operation: Operate Samsung CP and SM machines to perform surface mount assembly processes, including pick-and-place, solder paste deposition, and reflow soldering. Quality Assurance: Conduct visual inspections and utilise automated inspection equipment to verify the accuracy and quality of component placement and solder joints. Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on Samsung CP and SM machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out parts, to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime. Process Optimisation: Collaborate with engineers and production team members to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and quality. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production parameters, and quality control data for traceability and continuous improvement purposes. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Teamwork: Perform other duties in the factory as needed to assist others in busy periods such as hand placement of components.
