Chef
Roydon Marina Village is a bustling holiday park and marina in the Lea Valley Regional Park. The Boathouse Bar & Kitchen is set to be the centre point of the business; a new restaurant and bar that’s opening this Spring, offering high quality, freshly prepared dishes all day.
We’re looking for a chef to lead the kitchen, inspire our team and provide consistent, quality food whilst meeting the highest food safety standards.
The Role
We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards whilst maintaining smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents in a fast-paced environment, delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The successful candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen operations, demonstrating creativity and professionalism in every plate served.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service
* Prepare and cook menu items ensuring consistent standards and presentation
* Manage efficiently during busy periods
* Manage and assist with daily food preparation
* Bring new ideas for seasonal menus and specials
* Cater for dietary requirements and allergen needs
Food Safety & Hygiene
* Follow current food hygiene regulations and maintain kitchen cleanliness
* Ensure correct storage, labelling, and stock rotation
* Maintain high standards in line with Food Standards Agency guidelines
* Ensuring the Safer Food, Better Business records are kept up to date
Stock & Kitchen Management
* Monitor stock levels and manage inventory
* Minimise waste and maintain cost control
* Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations
About The Role
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience as a Chef in a professional kitchen environment
* Restaurant experience with culinary skills
* Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum)
* Flexible approach to shifts, including evenings and weekends
* Positive attitude and a good team worker
* Excellent understanding of food hygiene regulations
* Knowledge and the safe use of kitchen equipment
* A highly organised individual who thrives working in a busy kitchen
* Able to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively

Desired Criteria
Required Criteria
* Be fluent in spoken and written English
* Hold Level 2 (and preferably Level 3) in food hygiene
* Have experience as a chef in a fast paced environment
