About The Role
This role is based at Preston. Once your probation period is completed, you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.
As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, You Will Be
Focusing on victims of domestic abuse and will provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service, through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
This includes supporting victims face-to-face or over the phone to access services that ensure their safety and develop safety plans tailored to their needs based on assessments.
You will provide advocacy, emotional, and practical support, including exploring legal, civil options, housing, health, and finance, and supporting clients through the criminal justice system.
You will participate in multi-agency meetings, representing the client's voice, and follow up on actions, keeping the client's safety central.
You Will Need To
* Have a good understanding of domestic abuse, its impact on victims and children.
* Understand risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management principles.
* Understand safeguarding issues and legal responsibilities.
* Have knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims.
* Experience working within multi-agency and legislative frameworks.
* Manage complex caseloads, prioritize work, and handle demanding situations with organization and calmness.
* Possess strong crisis management skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.
* Have excellent communication, negotiation, and advisory skills, both written and verbal.
* Use IT applications competently, including Microsoft Office and case management systems.
* Possession of a driving license and access to a vehicle is essential due to travel requirements.
