Eden Scott’s client is seeking experienced and proactive AML Operation Manager to join our clients Compliance & Risk team in their Edinburgh office. This hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 from home) is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work closely with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Head of AML to drive and maintain robust anti-money laundering standards across the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the MLRO and Head of AML to ensure full compliance with AML legislation, guidance, and internal risk controls.
* Manage the AML Team’s day-to-day operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion of workload.
* Maintain and develop AML policies, procedures, and risk assessments—ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Drive improvements to AML processes and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
* Liaise with wider compliance and risk functions, including the firm’s COLP and Head of Risk.
* Stay abreast of AML regulatory developments and communicate relevant updates firm-wide.
* Deliver training across departments on AML legislation and internal procedures.
* Support team development including recruitment, training, and performance appraisals.
* Oversee client and matter risk assessments and ensure compliance with source of funds and source of wealth procedures.
* Collaborate effectively with the firm’s Cashroom, finance, risk teams, and fee earners.
* Assist in investigating suspicious activity reports and aid in reporting to authorities.
Person Specification:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a compliance or AML-focused role.
* Demonstrated experience in managing or supervising a team.
* High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Able to manage deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
* A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
* Confidence in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Proven ability in process documentation and improvement.
