We are seeking talented Engineers to join the Plant Structural Integrity department at Rolls-Royce Submarines. As a Structural Integrity Engineer, you will conduct assessments related to primary strength, fatigue, crack growth, and fracture, in accordance with ASME III and R6 codes. You will support various programs, including in-service support, new builds, and future projects, and develop Finite Element Analysis models to evaluate stresses and justify components.
Responsibilities
* Perform mechanical assessments using finite element analysis and traditional methods.
* Develop and support component designs and lifecycle management.
* Create and implement methodologies for assessing submarine nuclear plant components.
* Communicate assessment outcomes effectively across different audiences within Rolls-Royce, industry partners, and clients.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Degree in mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
* Strong interest and expertise in structural integrity analysis.
* Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of failure mechanisms and assessment methods.
* Experience with finite element tools like Abaqus, ANSYS, HyperMesh.
* Experience supporting safety cases and working within safety-critical industries.
* Membership or working towards chartership in a relevant professional body.
