Role
Your role is a Residential Child Care Worker supporting children and young people in care settings. You will contribute to their safety, education, cooking, cleaning, and participation in activities, and you will work across multiple homes in the area.
Responsibilities
* Care for children and young people in all aspects of their lives, including safeguarding, education support, cooking, cleaning, and participating in activities.
* Support care teams across several homes in the same area.
* Receive a full induction, shadow shifts, and in-depth training, including an introduction to Therapeutic Parenting.
* Coordinate with the team about availability for shifts; coverage is requested to include at least one shift every four weeks to remain in the role.

* Hourly rate £12.75–£13.53 per hour, plus £80 per sleep payment, depending on qualifications and training.
* Zero-hour employees may cover 24-hour shifts, including sleepovers, or part-time daytime shifts.

* Full, valid UK manual driving licence (homes may have their own vehicles)
Desirable Qualities
* One year’s experience working with children or young adults
* SCQF Level 7 (Scotland) or Level 3 Diploma (England) relevant to Children and Young People’s Residential workforce, or willingness to work towards
* Familiarity with regulatory Codes of Practice (e.g., SSSC / Ofsted)
* PVG / DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one
