Position: Experienced CAD Designer – Creative Technology Events Studio
Location: Central London (Hybrid Working)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Start: ASAP
I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing creative technology events studio based in Central London, who are looking to hire an experienced CAD Designer to join their talented team on a full-time, hybrid basis.
This is an incredible opportunity to become the central CAD specialist in a studio that's creating some of the most exciting immersive experiences and live environments in the industry today.
About the Studio
This team operates at the cutting edge of event design, digital experience, and spatial storytelling—delivering innovative, tech-driven projects for global brands and cultural institutions. As they continue to expand, they're bringing more of their design process in-house, and this role is a key part of that shift.
The Role
Right now, early-stage CAD work is handled by individual producers and freelancers. The studio is looking for a dedicated in-house CAD Designer to unify and lead this process—someone who can bring clarity, structure, and technical excellence to their visual communication.
You’ll be the focal point of CAD output across all departments—working closely with creatives, producers, and technical teams to develop and consolidate drawings across multiple projects. This role demands confidence in a collaborative, high-paced environment and the ability to interpret complex ideas into precise, buildable drawings.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all CAD workflows for the studio
* Consolidate CAD outputs from multiple team members into unified, consistent drawings
* Create 3D models, layouts, and technical drawings for use in concept, design, and production phases
* Translate design intent into practical, build-ready documentation
* Collaborate with designers, producers, engineers, and contractors across the project lifecycle
* Maintain drawing standards, file structures, and documentation systems
* Participate in internal and client meetings, offering technical input when required
Ideal Candidate
* 3–5+ years’ experience in a CAD Designer role within events, exhibitions, or experiential design
* Advanced 3D CAD skills in Vectorworks (essential)
* Strong spatial awareness and understanding of technical design principles
* 2D drafting ability (desirable), especially for plans, sections, and detailing
* Experience working within multi-disciplinary creative and production teams
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects at once
* Familiarity with additional tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus
What’s on Offer
* Full-time, permanent position with hybrid working (3 days in studio / 2 days remote)
* A key design role within a collaborative and innovative team
* Opportunity to work on high-profile, cutting-edge projects with global reach
* Studio culture that values creativity, experimentation, and personal growth
* Competitive salary based on experience
