Infrastructure Cyber Engineer
Edinburgh (1 day per week in office) | Travel to data sites as required
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE
We are working with one of Scotland's biggest law firms looking for a Infrastructure Cyber Engineer to join their collaborative, fast-paced IT team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening and maintaining security across a growing Azure and Microsoft 365 estate. With significant migration underway from on-prem to cloud, you’ll help ensure platforms, projects and services are securely delivered and continuously improved.
The Role
Working closely with the Infrastructure Manager and Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll help maintain and enhance the firm’s security posture across Azure, M365 and on-prem infrastructure.
You will:
1. Review and remediate Azure and Microsoft 365 security configurations
2. Support and optimise an existing Azure landing zone
3. Investigate and respond to security alerts (Arctic Wolf, Darktrace, BitSight, Silverfort, Varonis, DMARC etc.)
4. Assist with incident response and disaster recovery processes
5. Support infrastructure hardening across cloud and on-prem environments
6. Contribute to cloud migration projects (including Azure Site Recovery)
This is a hands-on role combining cloud security, infrastructure engineering, and operational support.
What We’re Looking For
7. Experience in Infrastructure, Network or Security roles
8. Strong knowledge of Azure and Microsoft 365 security features and configuration
9. Good understanding of security frameworks such as OWASP, Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO27001
10. Experience investigating and triaging security alerts
11. Understanding of cloud security controls, IAM, encryption and secure configuration
Desirable:
12. Azure certifications
13. Security certifications
14. Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
15. Experience with professional services clients
