We currently have an Repair Workshop Technical Assistant position available for a motivated individual to join our team in Exeter. This is a full-time role offering a competitive salary of £25,000 - £26,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role:
The Repair Workshop Technical Assistant will enhance all asset repair activities, workflow processes, and technical inquiries within the Repair Workshop (RWS) based at Exeter. The role aims to enable efficient, effective, and productive daily operations within the workshop facilities.
What you will be doing:
* Managing workshop communication with external suppliers and internal customers, including work prioritization based on demand.
* Coordinating with various departments to effectively manage risks related to “out of service” assets.
* Providing administrative support to ensure best practices are maintained across Repair Workshop facilities.
* Issuing Repair Workshop job packs to Craftspersons.
* Monitoring and managing the Repair Workshop mailbox for all correspondence.
* Understanding the technical aspects of workshop activities to facilitate discussions and decisions with the craft team, suppliers, and customers.
* Liaising with suppliers regarding technical requirements, pricing, and deliveries, and following up on orders and inquiries.
* Supporting craft teams with asset customization via the company’s asset management platform (MADE).
* Providing Repair Workshop reports to the Regional Repair Workshop Manager.
* Advising customers on repair versus replacement costs and options.
* Organizing workshop documentation and job files to meet standards required for ISO, Health & Safety, and ATEX compliance.
* Reviewing and updating Repair Workshop processes and procedures annually.
* Managing statutory inspections related to the Repair Workshop.
* Recording incoming assets, creating work orders, and managing subsequent repair or replacement processes.
* Processing goods receipt for purchase orders in line with ‘Procure to Pay’ rules.
* Participating in workshop team meetings, recording minutes and actions.
* Managing PPE and tools procurement for the workshop.
* Addressing supplier or service provider issues, including raising Vendor Concern Reports.
* Providing feedback and communication to customers regarding repair processes.
What we are looking for:
* Experience handling customer inquiries effectively and promptly.
* Proven experience in a busy office environment.
* Data analysis skills supporting root cause analysis of failed assets.
* Experience working with external suppliers, service providers, and contractors.
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Mathematics, English, and a subject (or equivalent).
