About the Role We are looking for a warm, reliable and experienced SEN Nanny to support a busy family with three children, one of whom has autism. The role combines childcare with household organisation/housekeeping during non-childcare hours. The family are seeking someone who will fit in well, can be trusted with the more challenging aspects of care, and is happy to be flexible around occasional odd hours. Key Responsibilities: Childcare School pick-ups and after-school care during term time. Providing engaging activities, homework support, and structured routines. Full days during school holidays (organising outings, activities, and play). Supporting the children’s emotional and behavioural needs, particularly around autism and transitions. Occasional evenings (bedtime routines) and long days by agreement. Flexibility to accompany the family on UK weekend breaks and longer holidays abroad. Household Support Housekeeping related to the children: laundry, beds, tidying rooms, organising clothes/belongings, light meal preparation. General household upkeep when children are at school. Optional cleaning hours available if desired. Hours Term Time (34 weeks/year): • Tuesday–Thursday: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm (housekeeping childcare) • Occasional long days (6:00 am – 7:00 pm, up to 10 per year) • Ad-hoc evenings (6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, a few per month) School Holidays (18 weeks/year): • Monday–Thursday: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm. • Friday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (housekeeping/cleaning). Average Annual Hours: ~28 hrs/week across the year. Candidate Requirements Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification. At least 5 years’ experience, ideally with SEN and autism. Confident, calm and resilient when managing behaviour and setting boundaries. Flexible, reliable and able to work independently in the home. Driving licence and car desirable (for school pick-ups and outings). Employment Details You will be employed directly by Freedom Care (not the family). • Full HR, training and supervision provided. • 3-month probationary period with regular reviews. • Ofsted registration will be arranged after starting (costs covered by Freedom Care). Pay & Benefits £16.50/hr while Ofsted registration is in progress. • £17.50/hr once Ofsted registered (typically within 12 weeks). • Paid monthly by Freedom Care. • Training, support, and supervision included. • Opportunity to accompany the family on holidays and trips.
