We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Counsellor to join our supportive pastoral team.
This is a part-time role days per week, with potential for job share), providing an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ wellbeing.
You will deliver a confidential, high-quality counselling service, supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing, mental health, and personal development. Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and wider staff, you will play a key role in promoting a positive and inclusive whole-school approach to wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide one-to-one counselling and tailored therapeutic support to pupils
2. Support emotional resilience, coping strategies, and mental wellbeing
3. Work in line with safeguarding policies, identifying and reporting concerns
4. Contribute to pastoral care and whole-school wellbeing initiatives
5. Deliver workshops or group sessions on topics such as anxiety and resilience
6. Support pupils with SEND and neurodiverse needs
About You
7. Registered with the BACP (or working towards accreditation) or equivalent
8. Experience working with children and young people
9. Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
10. Empathetic, approachable, and an excellent communicator
11. Committed to professional development and reflective practice
