Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. It also aims to disrupt the organised criminal groups that exploit the vulnerable for their personal gain. Learn more on our careers pages.

We have casework support officer roles within the National Returns Progression Command (NRPC), supporting the removal of individuals with no lawful basis to remain in the UK, and the Foreign National Offenders Return Command (FNO RC), progressing foreign national offenders towards removal under the deportation process.

Working within your teams you will support case progression by obtaining documentation, monitoring legal challenges and maintaining accurate data. Aligning with policy and legislation you’ll ensure that the safeguarding needs of individuals are met.

As a casework support officer, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment, where you will develop specialist knowledge across a broad range of immigration matters. You will support case progression, maintain accurate records, and contribute to decision‑making processes. If successful you will be assigned to one of these teams. Please note that team preference cannot be requested.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):

* Progress and monitor immigration cases in line with current policy and guidance, ensuring timely and appropriate action.
* Liaise professionally with a range of internal and external stakeholders, such as legal representatives, healthcare professionals, and social services.
* Interpret and manage data using spreadsheets and databases to support case progression and reporting.
* Manage your own workload effectively in a fast‑paced environment, contributing to team goals and delivering high‑quality outcomes.
* Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint and MS Teams.
* Handle incoming correspondence and telephone calls, ensuring responses are clear, accurate, and compliant with GDPR.
* Provide general administrative support, including logging correspondence, moving files, and responding to enquiries.


Working Pattern

This role is available on a full‑time basis. This role is also suitable for part‑time working hours, with a minimum requirement to work 3 days / 22 hours per week due to business requirements.
