As a Propulsion Technician in our Typhoon Propulsion Support Facilities team, you’ll help keep the RAF Typhoon platform mission‑ready by ensuring EJ200 engines and accessories are expertly maintained and fully serviceable. Working at the forward–depth interface, you’ll play a key role in delivering maintenance solutions that directly support national defence capability. What you’ll do as a Propulsion Technician You’ll be entrusted to: Safely move all assets throughout the TPSF, including using forklifts and cranes Unpack and re‑pack engines and line‑replaceable items (LRIs) as required Conduct visual and boroscope inspections on engines and associated hardware Perform EJ200 engine repairs Remove, install, and repair engine modules and accessories Embody outstanding engineering instructions and modifications Complete data tasks on engine and aircraft electronic systems, including raising and recording work orders Maintain a tidy, well‑equipped workshop using 5S principles Improve processes to ensure compliance with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulations Maintain competency and currency on EJ200 engines, across both practical and data processes Complete any additional duties as directed by the Propulsion Operations Lead or DE&S Management Team Does this sound like you? You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have: SC cleared or have no issues obtaining Experience of engine maintenance within an operational environment The ability to work effectively in a changing environment Attention to detail and a proactive, positive work ethic Good communication skills and the confidence to work with initiative in line with technical documentation IT literacy and the ability to learn new systems This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
