Senior Service Charge Analyst
Working Pattern: Permanent, full time opportunity
Location: London, hybrid working available
Salary: £45,800 - £49,100 per annum

We are recruiting a Senior Service Charge Analyst to join a well‑established, values‑led housing organisation. This is a highly visible and influential role, where your expertise will play a critical part in ensuring service charges are accurate, transparent and fully compliant. You'll work closely with both finance and operational teams, contributing to sound financial decision‑making and support in making a significant impact on the organisation's operations.
The Role
Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will take ownership of service charge calculations, budgeting and analysis, working closely with property and operational colleagues. You will play a key role in ensuring service charge income and expenditure are correctly allocated, clearly communicated and robustly evidenced.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and reviewing annual service charge budgets, forecasts and statements.
Allocating communal and major works costs including repairs, cleaning, grounds maintenance, electricity and other shared services.
Analysing variances between estimated and actual expenditure.
Identify cost increases, inefficiencies and anomalies in service charge costs.
Support reconciliation processes and financial reviews related to service charge income and expenditure.
Leading service charge billing for revenue and major works.
Supporting audits, compliance and Section 20 consultation processes.
Acting as a key point of contact for service charge queries from stakeholders including internal, leaseholder and tenant queries.About You:
You will be an analytical, detail‑focused finance professional with hands‑on experience of service charge accounting or financial analysis ideally within the public sector or a similar environment.
You will bring:
Proven experience in service charge accounting, finance or financial analysis within a similar environment.
Experience preparing service charge budgets and statements
Demonstrable experience analysing financial data and resolving financial discrepancies.
Experience working with stakeholders across finance and operational teams.
