About the apprenticeship
Duties
Principal Job Purpose
1.Assisting in the processing of all types of licences, permits and registrations dealt with by the Licensing Team, including the receipt, deposit or repayment of any monies.
2.Assisting in the processing of licences within the timescales laid down in law or the appropriate policies and procedures of the Authority.
3.Liaison with “Responsible Authorities” and other relevant agencies, departments and individuals involved in the licensing administration and enforcement process.
4.Initial receipt of complaints and enquiries relevant to the administrative functions of the licensing team, as appropriate.
5.Providing administrative support for enforcement in respect of licensing administration matters.
6.Assisting in the preparation of reports as required by Line Managers and/or the Licensing Committee, and attending Licensing Hearings and court appeals, if necessary.
7.Assisting in the maintenance of the licensing database and files, generating reminders and updating accordingly.
8.Arranging and/or attending meetings/hearings to be dealt with by the Licensing Team and the Licensing Committee.
9.Maintaining knowledge and undertaking training as necessary for the effective delivery of the licensing functions.
10.Maintaining all proper records in accordance with the service area or council procedures and policies, including the appropriate use of information technology.
Requirements
Qualifications
Entry Requirements – Educated to a good standard of education (with GCSEs grade A-C or equivalent in Maths and English) and possessing good computer literacy, interpersonal and organisation skills.
Hours of Work - 37 hours as an agile worker and from a base at the Housing Advice Centre, Ebbw Vale.
