We are delighted to be recruiting for a Junior Credit Controller & Legal Cashier Assistant on behalf of a well-established and supportive firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at AAT Level 2 (or currently studying) who is looking to build a long-term career within legal finance.
This is a varied and hands‑on role, combining responsibility for credit control with day‑to‑day cashiering support, offering valuable exposure to legal accounts and compliance within a professional environment.
The Role
Credit Control Responsibilities:
* Proactively monitor and manage outstanding client debts
* Chase overdue invoices via telephone, email, and written correspondence
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all communications
* Liaise with fee earners regarding aged debt and agree recovery strategies
* Assist in preparing reports on debtor balances and cash flow
Legal Cashiering Support:
* Assist with daily banking, including client and office account transactions
* Process receipts, payments, and transfers in line with SRA Accounts Rules
* Support bank reconciliations
* Assist with posting bills, disbursements, and client account transactions
* Ensure all financial records are accurate, compliant, and up to date
About You
* AAT Level 2 qualified or currently studying (essential)
* Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Confident communicator, both written and verbal
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Proactive, with a positive and willing attitude to learn
* Basic understanding of accounting principles
* Legal accounts experience is desirable but not essential
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
