Home Assistance Officer (Surveyor)
We are expanding our existing Home Assistance Team to keep up with the ever-increasing demand for grants / loans programme within North Lincolnshire.
This post is full-time / permanent
Have you got experience of designing adaptations for Disabled Facilities Grants, enabling elderly and vulnerable residents to remain in their own homes longer? Providing safe access to facilities we all take for granted, such as entering / leaving our homes without assistance and bathing in a safe environment.
Do you have good overall knowledge of domestic construction, can you spot major defects / hazards, assess them and offer solutions to remove them?
If you have experience of either of the above and want to make a difference to people's lives by helping them to improve their living conditions, then we may be able to offer you the opportunity to work for a modern, forward-thinking organisation, offering flexible working arrangements.
Based at Home / Church Square House, Scunthorpe, you will form part of a dedicated team working on delivering the grants / loans programme detailed within NLC's Home Assistance Policy.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced housing surveyor, who has experience of both the above, with practical knowledge of using HHSRS and the ability to produce schedules of work to enable like for like quotations.
Good Computer Aided Design (CAD) skills would be advantageous as would an understanding of grants legislation.
Experience of managing works on site and liaising with contractors would also be an advantage.
You will be provided with excellent admin / IT support and continuous professional development to enable you to carry out the role and develop your skills accordingly.
We would consider someone who wishes to work part-time.
