This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering Outpatients musculoskeletal Physiotherapy to our Aylesbury community at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
We pride ourselves on integrated team working and strive for best clinical practice. The post holder will have the opportunity to enhance their Outpatients musculoskeletal skills with support from Band 7 and our Band 8a Outpatients MSK Lead Physiotherapist. We strongly encourage an evidenced based approach and support staff through supervision and appraisal. There is a strong emphasis on student education. Attendance at post graduate courses is also supported.
Main duties of the job
1. To perform assessment and treatment (including Hydrotherapy where required) for patients with complex needs, and to provide advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals.
2. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
3. To participate in continuing professional and service development and contribute to organisational objectives.

EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
13. Experience of at least 18 months in a junior rotational Physiotherapy post
14. Previous experience in core physiotherapy specialties including acute in-patient care, respiratory, Musculoskeletal and neurology
15. Attendance at post graduate courses in related fields and demonstrates reflective learning
16. Experience of managing own caseload and prioritizing
17. Ability to work and interact effectively within an interdisciplinary team and contribute to decision making
18. Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development and reflective practice
19. Knowledge and application of evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning
20. Establish and maintain CPD Portfolio
Desirable criteria
21. Knowledge of areas of influence of psychosocial and cultural factors on health/illness behaviours
22. Demonstration of having initiated change of practice or process
23. Experience of on-call and weekend working in an acute NHS Hospital
24. Knowledge of areas of clinical governance including quality, audit and risk management
25. Experience in supervision of students and junior staff
26. Participation in audit and research and development activities
27. Experience of undertaking Senior (Band 6) role
