A high-performing, inclusive Secondary School in the London Borough of Newham is offering an exceptional opportunity for a talented graduate to gain hands-on classroom experience in a structured and supportive environment.
This full-time, term-time only position starts ASAP and is ideal for an Oxbridge graduate eager to build classroom experience before progressing onto teacher training (Schools Direct, PGCE, or salaried routes).
ROLE SUMMARY
* Support a specialist subject department (English, Maths, Science, Humanities, MFL, etc.)
* Work with pupils across KS3-KS5, delivering targeted interventions and enrichment activities
* Provide 1:1 support to SEN students, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their potential
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging, high-quality lessons
* Receive structured training, mentoring, and CPD throughout the year
* Play an active role in promoting academic excellence and student wellbeing
SALARY & START
* £22,000 - £26,000 per annum (term-time only)
* Full-time | September 2025 - July 2026
* Potential to progress into a teacher training role from September 2026
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* 2:1 or First-Class Degree from Oxford or Cambridge University
* Excellent academic background (AAA at A-Level or equivalent)
* Strong subject knowledge and intellectual curiosity
* Confident communicator with a passion for learning
* Empathetic, patient, and motivated to make a difference
* Genuine commitment to a career in teaching
