At MTVH, we have an exciting opportunity for a People Assistant. This role is ideal for a graduate who has studied HR or has started their career in HR and is looking to progress. Reporting to the Head of People, this position supports two People Advisors providing a comprehensive People Service to the Property Directorate. Supporting nearly 600 colleagues, the team is busy and dynamic, making this role varied and engaging.
The People Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the service is proactive and valuable to the wider business. You will often be the first point of contact for colleagues and managers, assisting with day-to-day people management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to developing a proactive, customer-focused HR service by building relationships with internal stakeholders.
2. Assist and guide managers on employee lifecycle matters, including probation, absences, flexible working, leave, and employment compliance.
3. Support the Head of People with projects such as restructures, ensuring administrative processes are efficient and data governance is maintained.
4. Provide HR advice and guidance to colleagues and managers on policies and practices.
5. Support Employee Relations cases by preparing documentation and notes to ensure proper procedures.
6. Handle queries from colleagues, managers, and external parties professionally, providing guidance and solutions.
7. Apply People policies and procedures, maintaining robust establishment controls to ensure good governance and risk management.
8. Maintain confidentiality and high integrity in handling sensitive information.
9. Assist in generating reports to support activities and improvements.
10. Stay updated on employment legislation, case law, and HR best practices.
Candidate Requirements
Previous HR experience is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for delivering value-added HR services, a sound understanding of HR principles, and strong attention to detail.
