We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance professional to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems through reactive and proactive maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
* Carry out reactive and proactive maintenance activities across local facilities with a strong emphasis on compliance and safety.
* Maintain mechanical plant equipment and process machinery, including lifting equipment, high-pressure steam systems, boilers, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
* Perform mechanical breakdown repairs on all plant and process equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
* Oversee boiler operations and high-pressure steam systems in accordance with safety standards and regulations.
* Support and mentor apprentices by promoting safety, compliance, and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
* Proactively report safety or operational concerns to line management to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Qualifications & Skills
* City & Guilds or HNC-qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering; time-served mechanical fitter with post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
* Proficient in steam, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fire prevention systems.
* Strong fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills.
* Quick to learn and understand complex mechanical systems.
* Clear communicator across all levels of the engineering team.
* Organised with a logical, solutions-focused approach.
