We are recruiting for ambitious and hardworking Assistant Buyers to join our Home and Clothing (F&F) teams. As an Assistant Buyer, you will work alongside a Buying Manager to plan and deliver the most commercial and profitable ranges to meet our customers\' needs. These roles would suit someone who is already an established Assistant Buyer looking for a new challenge.
Responsibilities
* Helping to build and source customer/market insight led ranges and product innovation.
* Supporting the manager to manage supplier performance.
* Leading product setup within Tesco proprietary systems ready for sale.
* Identifying potential new suppliers and supporting to build long term supplier relationships.
* Providing support to ensure the category has a long term, customer led plan which drives loyalty.
* Conducting regular store/website visits and reviewing customer insight and trends, helping shape future product and range requirements.
* Negotiating with suppliers with support from the manager, improving the trading position in a sustainable way.
* Supporting delivery of the department’s trade, promotions/marketing and events plan, striving to exceed KPI forecasts and drive footfall.
* Supporting Tesco Business Services and Supply Chain to get products in all channels on time.
* Working with suppliers and the category quality team to ensure product quality is achieved and maintained.
* Loading Commercial Income and ensuring suppliers are invoiced correctly, managing over-charge, under-charges and aged debt on a weekly basis.
* Briefing, developing and managing all artwork and POS.
* Adhering to Tesco policies, storage and handover protocols and completing training.
* Manage GHS set up.
* Influencing & negotiation.
* Stakeholder management.
* Supplier management.
* Buying and Range management.
* Trade planning.
* Data analysis.
* Microsoft Office.
* Retail Maths knowledge.
* Clear presentation skills.
