John Wainwright & Company is recruiting an Asphalt Plant Operative at our £9m state-of-the-art production facility in Avonmouth.

We’re looking for a hard-working, go-getting self-starter for this multi-functional role. It includes asphalt production/mixing, load out operations and general plant duties. There will also be a requirement to cover the loading shovel at times so flexibility is a must. Good customer service skills are essential for this role and high standards in this regard will be expected from all asphalt team members.
Key responsibilities:
•Batch asphalt and conduct general maintenance of the asphalt plant.
•Operate a loading shovel and weighbridge, adhering to safety and operational procedures.
•Assist with the overall day-to-day operations of the site, promoting our safety culture.
•Operate systems according to established procedures.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
•Previous experience within an asphalt plant is beneficial though training will be provided.
•A positive attitude towards health and safety.
•Flexibility and adaptability in your work approach.
•Methodical and forward thinking with a good level of numeracy and literacy.
•Ability to remain composed under pressure.
•Please note: the Plant’s core operating hours are 4.00am – 5.00pm. You will be required to work a variety of shifts within these times and be willing to provide support outside of your normal working hours including weekends and nights.
