Overview

The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour. The festive season at Boots is one of our most exciting and important times of the year, and it simply couldn\'t happen without the energy, warmth and dedication of our store teams. As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you\'ll be at the heart of the action, greeting customers with a smile, offering product and gift advice, and creating a memorable experience that leads to a happily ever after and keeps them coming back all year round.

This role is a great opportunity whether you\'re just starting your career or have retail or customer service experience and want a fresh challenge. If you love helping people and making their day, this is the job for you.

Whilst this is a temporary contract, there may be the potential for a permanent role later depending on the opportunities in your local area, so it could be the start of a new career with us.


About the role

You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

* Customer Interaction: You\'ll offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight offers to ensure a positive shopping experience and that customers leave with what they need.
* Till Operation: Wrapping up purchases at the counter or supporting self-checkout systems with energy and efficiency.
* Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the busy season.
* Store Presentation: Ensure every area looks its best.
* Online order support: You may assist with deliveries, picking, and packing for online orders as needed.


What you\'ll need to have

Full training is provided for this role, but these are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed:

* Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year\'s Day.
* Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience that leaves a lasting impression.
* Operations Ready: Ability to balance customer care with daily shopfloor and operational tasks.
* Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn and use new technology, including handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts.
* Team Player: Collaborative, one-team mindset to help meet store goals and have fun.
* Physical Stamina: On your feet, standing, walking and lifting.
* Brand Ambassador: Love Boots ethos, products and services and share them with customers.


Desirable experience

These are desirable experience and are not essential. Applications from candidates who don’t match these criteria are welcome.

* Experience in a retail or customer-facing environment
* Familiarity with Boots products and services

Need To Know

We are recruiting Christmas Customer Advisors for our Cookstown, 5-7 James Street store. We are looking for candidates to start from September onwards. We have shifts available, between 11:15 am and 17:45 pm, which may include weekends. Shift patterns may appear below. Available shift patterns: Wed 12.15-17.45, Thurs 12.15-17.45, Fri 11.15-17.45. Note: We will close the advert once we have met our requirements.
