Job summary
Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for the position of a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Breast Imaging.
The Parapet Unit is a dedicated standalone Breast Surgical Outpatient and Imaging facility located in Windsor, with easy access to London and Heathrow.
The unit provides Breast Screening and Symptomatic services to the local population and is recognized as a flagship service for the Trust, known for high-quality, comprehensive care.
The service meets national screening targets, including 2WW referrals, and 31 and 62-day targets. It was highly commended at the last Breast Screening QA visit for good practices.
The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of Consultant Breast Radiologists, Advanced Radiographic Practitioners, Oncoplastic Breast Surgeons, and Oncologists.
The General Radiology and on-call service are based at Wexham Park Hospital, Slough, and Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot.
Applicants must be registered with the GMC, hold a license to practice, and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible within six months of the interview date.
Applications from those requiring Tier 2 sponsorship are welcome and will be considered equally.
Main duties of the job
1. Job Summary: Full-time post, 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), including on-call commitments.
2. Purpose of Job: To provide comprehensive General Radiology services with a focus on Breast Screening and Symptomatic imaging.
Audit & Clinical Governance
One half-day per month dedicated to audit and teaching, with all elective work canceled during this time. Participation in clinical governance, learning, and discrepancy meetings is expected. All CPD requirements must be met. Monthly Directorate Consultant meetings are chaired by the Clinical Lead.
On Call
The post involves participation in the on-call rota.
