HGV Technician opportunity in Birmingham

A leading commercial vehicle dealership is seeking a skilled and motivated Night HGV Technician to join its dedicated after-hours workshop team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a professional, well-equipped environment with a respected name in the heavy vehicle sector.
You will play a key role in ensuring customer vehicles are maintained and repaired to the highest standards, minimising downtime and keeping fleets safely on the road.
HGV Technician Working Hours:
4. Tuesday to Friday
5. 7:45 PM – 6:15 AM
6. 42 hours per week, including paid breaks.
Key Responsibilities as a HGV Technician:
7. Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
8. Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
9. Complete vehicle inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing
10. Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards
11. Accurately complete job cards and service documentation
12. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
13. Work independently and efficiently during night shifts.
The Ideal HGV Technician :
14. NVQ Level 3 qualified HGV Technician (or equivalent)
15. Previous experience working on HGVs
16. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
17. HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
19. Positive, reliable, and proactive attitude

Requirements for the HGV Technician:
34. Minimum 2 years’ HGV technician experience preferred
35. Main Dealer experience advantageous but not essential
36. Right to work in the UK.
