We are seeking a skilled and reliable Working Supervisor to join our construction team on the Hinkley Point C project. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, strong practical skills, and a commitment to safety. This role will be based at our Bridgwater, Somerset site.
Pay
* Hourly rate: £26.82 or £27.81 depending on experience.
* Shift Pattern: 7/3, 7/4
* Location: Bridgewater, HPC – Roads and Networks.

Your mission
* To gain skills and knowledge and to achieve the standards of competency required on the Hinkley Point C project regarding Safety, Health, and Environmental, Quality and Production issues.
* To comply with all site rules and maintain personal safety and the safety of others.
* To fully understand and comply with all KBJV policies including those for SHE and risk management and RAMS, TBS, SPA’s and TBT’s.
* To promote KBJV and NNB values in order to meet or exceed their expectations and fulfill the vision of becoming the most highly respected project in the industry.
* Taking ownership of personnel within the designated work group and the work assigned to you.
* Maintaining high personal and workgroup standards in health, safety, environmental awareness and behaviour
* Attending and participating in daily safety briefings, activity plan briefings and toolbox talks ensuring all personnel understand the briefing – question/answer
* Assist in control and ordering of materials, reduce wastage and improving reuse of materials where possible
* Complete observation cards if you observe something unsafe, damaging to the environment or good enough to share with others and encourage others to complete the same
* Recommend individuals for rewards or consultation with regards to SHE performance to Foreman or Safety Department personnel
* Driving quality delivery through good workmanship
* Assist in control and ordering of materials, reduce wastage and improving reuse of materials where possible
* Communicating effectively to members of work group, foreman and engineers
* Informing foremen and engineers of how resources (labour/plant materials) are employed throughout the shift
* Assist in control and ordering of materials, reduce wastage and improving reuse of materials where possible
* Monitor time keeping of work group, ensuring official start and finish times are followed, identifying those who do not, maintaining the workforce at the place of work until the agreed time for leaving that place of work
* Respond positively to issues raised by union shop stewards or safety representatives
Who are we looking for?
* SSSTS – minimum on QC Matrix
* HSE Test for Supervisors – minimum on QC Matrix
* CILM (N) Level 3 Award
* NVQ Level 3 OWS
* CSCS Skilled Card / CSCS Supervisor Card (Gold)
* Able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years working in similar role
* Trainee 'Blue Hats' to gain an minimum of 6 months working in the role prior to achieving full rate
* Competence based interview – minimum on QC Matrix
