The Role
As a Distribution Finance Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our financial operations within the distribution network. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive cost reduction, streamline processes, and support our transformational goals through detailed financial oversight and strategic insights.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the month-end close process, including journal postings, P&L and Capex reviews.
* Foster relationships across finance and distribution teams to deliver detailed cost analysis and commentary.
* Ensure timely and insightful financial reporting, adopting a digital-first approach.
* Conduct thorough monthly balance sheet reconciliations to an auditable standard.
* Oversee and refine fixed cost schedules and purchasing controls.
* Enhance efficiency and control in financial processes, reducing timelines for monthly closes and reports.
* Take charge of budgeting and forecasting for specific departments, ensuring accuracy and foresight.
Location:
We have bases in Nuneaton, London and Burton, regular travel between Burton & Nuneaton will be required. This is a hybrid role with a typical week consisting of 2-3 days a week in Burton/Nuneaton. We're global, digitally enabled business and we expect our colleagues to be self-driven and to determine the most appropriate place to work each day to meet the requirements of the role, achieve their best performance and optimum output.
The Person
* In pursuit of or newly qualified in CIMA, ACA, or ACCA.
* Proven experience in an analyst or management accountant role, preferably within distribution.
* Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, SUMIFs) and knowledgeable in AI applications in business.
* Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to generate insightful reports and support key decisions.
* Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
* A keen eye for detail with the capacity to convey financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
