Where will you be working?
At M Group, we're enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Metering team, you'll join the leading provider of metering services and data collection in the UK energy retail sector, we provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.
Our meter engineers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored. We leverage our industry expertise and data insight capabilities to create solutions that fit the needs of our customers.
What will you be doing?
As a Training & Compliance Coach, you'll play a vital role in shaping the learning and development journey of our Data Collectors across London and South East of England. You'll deliver mandatory, safety, compliance, and operational training in a dynamic and engaging way, ensuring our teams have the skills and confidence to succeed.
You'll work closely with Operations and Field Managers, providing side-by-side coaching, facilitating upskilling sessions, and conducting in-person compliance audits. Your role is key to maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and customer service while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will:
Onboard & Empower: Get new hires ready to succeed—safe, confident, and productive
Audit & Improve: Complete compliance checks and fix issues fast
Coach in the Field: Deliver hands-on support and tailored development plans
Train & Engage: Run workshops, toolbox talks, and create practical learning materials
Drive E-Learning: Keep mandatory training on track and escalate when needed.
Manage Records: Maintain accurate, audit-ready training data
Mentor Mentors: Guide Field Mentors to deliver consistent, high-quality coaching
Stay Connected: Share updates and insights at team briefings
Report Progress: Provide clear performance updates to your Operations Manager
What You'll Bring
Hands-on Data Collection: You have practical, on‑site experience in data collection within the energy sector, with a strong understanding of field operations. You'll use this expertise to coach and support others to deliver high‑quality work.
Training that sticks: You know how to design and deliver training that's practical, engaging, and memorable—whether it's a workshop, a toolbox talk, or one-to-one coaching in the field
Compliance know-how: You've carried out audits before and can spot when something's off. Safety, PPE, and process standards are second nature to you
Mentorship mindset: You've supported and developed others, helping them grow and succeed in their roles
Operational savvy: You understand metering processes, safety protocols, and how to drive performance improvements
Data confidence: You're comfortable juggling systems, managing schedules, and keeping records accurate and audit-ready
Desirable but not deal breakers
Familiarity with SHEQ standards and compliance frameworks.
Experience managing e-learning platforms and tracking completion.
Strong stakeholder skills—working with Operations Managers, Field Managers, and central teams to get things done.
