We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join the Trials Research and Development team here at AWE. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual from a Quality or Engineering background.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke - Hybrid working available.
Salary: £35,720 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

You will Support delivery in a crucial role within AWE providing support to the UK's at sea deterrent.
Successful Candidates will be reporting to the Senior Quality Manager and will be responsible for:
* Ensuring that processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials, and processes.
* Creation of quality documentation and development of SOPs in line with regulatory requirements.
* Proactive review and improvement of systems and processes.
* Working closely with engineering and trials teams to ensure quality protocols are followed and documentation is correctly maintained, implementing any new changes or adaptations based on a quality review.
* Validating inspection and testing of various parts used in the trials areas which include product, components, processes, and comparing against predefined standards.
* To ensure that quality is represented at all stages of programme, project, trial, or production.
* Audit process to ensure compliance with the proper quality standard/s and that safety requirements are met throughout the process.
* Analysing problems reported and developing improvements to overcome them.
* Statistical analysis of data and creation of reports for senior team based on quality documentation.
* Working closely with external partners and key stakeholders.
* Identify areas of continuous improvement to promote and enhance Quality capability.
* Attend design/technical/task reviews, defect reviews and stakeholder meetings as required to ensure Quality is represented.
Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:
* ONC/HNC, A Levels, Diploma Level 3 or equivalent NVQ level 3 in relevant subject.
* Membership of an industry related professional body.
* Experience of working in Quality Assurance.
* Lead Auditor preferred; audit experience would be advantageous.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Knowledge of measurement tools, techniques, and methodologies.
* Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers.
* knowledge of APQP toolsets.
* Understanding engineering processes.
* Experience of Management Systems and related standards (e.g., ISO9001:2015)
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
* Good report writing and presentation skills, strong attention to detail and ability to present data effectively.
* Evidence of problem-solving root cause analysis and analytical skills.
* Proficient in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & experience using Database/s.
