Job Title: Payroll Assistant Location: Glasgow City Centre Salary: up to £30,000 Contract: Full-Time | Permanent We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join a well-established accountancy practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with existing experience in a practice environment, looking to further develop their skills in payroll processing and client service. You will support the payroll function across a varied client base, ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery in line with current legislation and HMRC requirements. Key Responsibilities Assist with the end-to-end processing of payroll for multiple clients (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly) Handle payroll queries from clients and employees in a professional and timely manner Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.) and process pension contributions Ensure accurate processing of PAYE, NI, and other deductions Liaise with HMRC on relevant matters Maintain and update payroll records and documentation in line with GDPR Requirements Previous experience working in an accountancy practice payroll function is essential Good working knowledge of payroll processes, HMRC guidelines, and statutory payments Experience using payroll software (e.g. BrightPay) Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Good organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal What’s on Offer A supportive team environment and fantastic culture within a reputable practice Great exposure to a variety of client sectors and payroll complexities Training and development opportunities Flexible working options At Iconic Resourcing, we understand that not all candidates will meet every desired qualification or skill listed for the job positions posted on behalf of our clients.
