Head of Legal – UK / HarKaye Core Talent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Costs Draftsperson to join a growing in‑house costs team within a respected legal organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting cost recovery across multiple Claimant departments, with a primary focus on producing high‑quality, accurate Bills of Costs.

Key Responsibilities
* Draft detailed and accurate Bills of Costs across a variety of case types, including Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, Brain and Spinal Injury, and Child Abuse claims.
* Prepare Schedules of Costs for trial and cost estimates to support applications for payments on account.
* Engage in a broad range of costs work, with opportunities to handle costs negotiations, budgeting, advisory work, and advocacy.
* Ensure all work complies with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and internal quality standards.
* Maintain excellent attention to detail, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of work.
Skills & Experience Required
* Qualified Costs Lawyer or Costs Draftsperson with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
* Proven experience in Bill drafting with a strong understanding of CPR and costs procedures.
* Excellent written and numerical accuracy, with exceptional attention to detail.
* Organised, proactive, and able to work effectively to deadlines.
* A strong communicator and team player who contributes positively to a collaborative working culture.
Working Arrangements
This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility while maintaining regular in‑office collaboration. The successful candidate will be required to attend the office at least one day per week.
