About the role
To oversee staff in providing a crèche service to parents in order that parents can attend Parenting Courses. Ensuring that all crèches will meet CSSIW standards.
The Crèche leader will take overall responsibility for: contacting crèche staff and
organising their working patterns to create a team to support the Parenting and Families Service to successfully run a course this will include maintaining the appropriate paperwork for running the crèche e.g. registration documents, risk assessments, carrying out a risk assessment of the venue before each session.
On a day to day basis you will:
1. Take a lead role in organising and delivering the provision of crèche facilities or other childcare services.
2. Support the delivery of group sessions.
3. Take a lead role in planning and preparation of activities for groups of children and to meet individual needs as required.
4. be responsible for carrying out a risk assessment of the premises and equipment each time it is used
5. create a welcoming environment.
6. Plan and prepare activities for groups of children and to meet individual needs as required.

8. Excellent organisational skills and leadership qualities.
9. Able to remain calm under pressure and make measured decision.
10. Friendly personality, with the ability to use good communication skills to build trusting relationships with both adults and children.

12. Ability to provide a welcoming atmosphere for both children and parents.
13. Ability to plan and prepare activities for children (0-4yrs) of different needs.
14. Good practical skills to support the delivery of group sessions.
15. Ability to support children’s development.
16. Ability to care for and meet the needs of children in childcare settings, family centres, and Integrated Children’s Centres.
17. An awareness of when to call parents due to child’s illness or inability to settle in to crèche.
18. Have an understanding of children’s rights.
19. The ability to drive to locations.
Whilst previous experience is useful it is not essential. Applications from candidates with little or no experience are welcomed. We will ensure you have all the training and support you need to confidently undertake the role.
We welcome applications from non-Welsh speakers. All successful applicants requiring support to learn/improve their Welsh language skills will be offered funded lessons, during work time, to help reach the desired standard.
