Job Summary
As the Asset and Wealth Management (AWM) International Counterparty Risk Team Lead, you will lead and manage the counterparty risk functions within Asset Management (AM) and Wealth Management (WM) Counterparty Risk, as well as WM Counterparty Credit Risk. Your expertise in Firmwide, Wholesale Credit, and AWM counterparty risk management frameworks, governance, and regulatory requirements will be crucial as you contribute to the development of AWM Counterparty Risk organizational strategy. You will foster collaboration across counterparty risk team members and serve a key function in overseeing compliance with wholesale policy and any AWM-specific framework documentation standards and guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage team responsible for AM and WM Counterparty Risk, overseeing compliance with end-to-end counterparty governance frameworks, with a focus on international clients, counterparties and business areas.
2. Drive the consolidation and alignment of AWM Counterparty risk functions.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Wholesale Credit and AM/WM Investment Risk teams to ensure comprehensive and consistent risk management practices.
4. Oversee counterparty risk exposure trends, thresholds / limit frameworks, and policies / guidelines / procedures applicable to AWM clients and counterparties.
5. Lead strategic counterparty initiatives, driving the technology agenda for infrastructural change and exposure connectivity across business and risk systems.
6. Provide credit risk oversight during the negotiation of ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support documentation, and other legal contracts with counterparties by collaborating closely with legal and business teams to ensure that counterparty and credit risk considerations are accurately and comprehensively reflected in contractual terms.
7. Present counterparty risk topics, framework updates, strategies, and methodologies in risk committees and forums, engaging with senior stakeholders across Asset Management and Wealth Management to communicate risk exposures, mitigation strategies, and provide credible 2nd Line of Defense challenge.
8. Engage on new business initiatives by providing guidance on counterparty risk requirements and participating in due diligence meetings for client accounts.
9. Support control agendas across AWM internal and external audits and control reviews.
10. Ensure compliance with regulatory capital and stress testing requirements, framework development and ownership determination, provide inputs for firmwide submissions, and ensure compliance with developing Asset Management regulatory requirements for Funds, Investment Advisors, and all other Fiduciary roles.
