Kajima Partnerships is a leading PFI/PPP investor and asset manager specializing in health, education, and civic public sector assets. We currently have a vacancy for a PFI General Manager to join our Asset Operations team at Kajima Partnerships Ltd.
The role would suit an astute, people-focused candidate with a genuine enjoyment of teamwork and problem solving in complex environments. Our Asset Managers sit on the SPV board as statutory directors. They should have an excellent eye for detail and report writing skills, be confident and capable in sharing and presenting information. The role is home-based with some travel required to asset sites. The ideal candidate will reside in the Nottingham, Leicester, or Peterborough area.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring Kajima Partnerships Limited meets its obligations under its Management Services Agreement with the Project Company, and addressing any non-compliance issues.
2. Ensuring delivery of and compliance with all obligations of the Project Agreement, Project finance documents, and related contracts.
3. Maintaining a thorough understanding of the Project Agreement, its schedules, and associated sub-contracts.
4. Effective liaison with the Board and Funders as required by the agreements.
5. Managing Board meetings and proceedings in conjunction with the Company Secretary.
6. Overseeing commercial and financial management of projects.
7. Managing operational aspects of projects.
8. Managing service performance.
9. Serving as a board director for the Project Co., handling commercial responsibilities.
Qualifications and experience required:
1. Proven experience with complex Project Agreements in PFI projects or similar environments.
2. Good understanding of the funding and contractual structure of PFI projects.
3. Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders, including Project Company Boards, funders/lenders, subcontractors, and public sector bodies.
4. Experience with performance monitoring regimes for FM services.
5. Experience working with detailed contractual and legal documents ensuring compliance.
6. Ability to provide advice on risk management and interpret complex information for risk assessments.
7. Experience in managing disputes to minimize project risk.
8. Knowledge of value-for-money principles in PFI lifecycle expenditure.
9. Strong reporting skills and ability to identify key information.
10. Leadership and team management experience, both internally and across agencies.
11. Ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities.
12. Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and promote project interests.
13. Commitment to ongoing professional development and legislative updates.
