Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Material Planner to join our Manufacturing Planning Team in Newcastle. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and ensuring material availability to support our production schedule and customer deliverables. Working closely with the Master Production Scheduler, procurement, and production planning teams, you will play a key role in maintaining smooth manufacturing operations and minimising downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Review ERP system (Oracle ASCP) daily to ensure materials are available as per BOM requirements.
Convert ERP-suggested requirements into purchase requisitions.
Support the Master Production Scheduler by identifying risks to material availability and resolving issues proactively.
Act as a liaison between project teams, procurement, and production planning to minimise delays in manufacturing.
Monitor and analyse inventory levels, ensuring material flow while meeting business cash flow targets.
Coordinate problem resolution and maintain accurate ASCP dates through communication with Production Control and the Master Scheduler.
Ensure ERP system data integrity and manage data quality.

Requirements
Essential
High School Diploma with proven experience in material planning.
Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle ASCP highly desirable).
Strong knowledge of Engineering BOM structures.
Proven ability to work in project-based environments within the energy or engineering sector.
Strong Excel skills (data analysis and reporting).
Proficient in Outlook, PowerPoint, and general MS Office applications.
Strong communication, organisational, and influencing skills.
Desirable
Experience in the energy or engineering manufacturing industry.
Solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
Training & Development
Oracle system familiarisation training will be provided.
Working Conditions
Office-based in Newcastle with the option of 1 day home office after training.
Onshore position with no travel or driving responsibilities.
Compressed working week available (early finish Friday).
