Overview
We are seeking a net-new payroll professional to come in to assist the team with business as usual processing, supporting the payroll manager whilst the business goes through payroll transformation.

Description
Payroll Assistant
* Manage the internal monthly payroll system, ensuring timely and accurate payment to all employees.
* Calculate payroll adjustments and deductions in accordance with organisational pay policies and approved procedures.
* Process payments including overtime, statutory and occupational entitlements (e.g., PAYE, NI, SMP, SSP, SPP, OMP), pension contributions, earnings attachments, holiday pay, salary amendments, increments, and annual pay awards.
* Assist with testing system updates, particularly those related to statutory rate changes for entitlements such as SMP, SSP, and SPP.
* Ensure prompt and accurate processing of new starters and leavers to maintain correct payroll records.
* Support the preparation of year-end and monthly pension returns, ensuring accurate reporting of employer and employee contributions to relevant pension schemes.
* Administer pension auto-enrolment for eligible staff, ensuring correct documentation is completed for scheme entry.
Profile
A successful Payroll Assistant should have:
* Proven experience in payroll processing, ideally approx. 2 years
* Can start on short notice / immediately
* HIGHLY DESIRABLE: Exposure working with TPS (teachers pension) and LGPS (local govt. pension)
* Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and statutory compliance
* Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
* Effective communication skills to liaise with employees and departments.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting deadlines.
* Commutable distance to Uxbridge
Job Offer
* Salary: Ranging from 17.00 to 21.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
* Opportunity to work within an exciting environment, going through Payroll transformation!
* Temporary position - likelihood of transitioning across to a permanent role
* Located in Uxbridge - good transport links and free parking on site!
* Office based typically 4 days per week with work from home 1 day per week
* 36 hours per week
