The role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient and compliant handling of e-commerce freight, maintaining operational excellence across warehouse functions, and supporting a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
As Operations Manager, you will oversee all warehouse activity within your shift — ensuring that goods are processed, stored, and dispatched safely and efficiently in line with customer requirements and operational targets.
You’ll lead and inspire a team of warehouse operatives and team leaders, driving a strong service-led culture while maintaining compliance with company procedures, health and safety standards, and regulatory frameworks.
Manage a team of warehouse staff and team leaders, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
Oversee compliance with all company, departmental, and statutory procedures, including HMRC, CAA, and others.
Ensure efficient use of labour, equipment, and transport resources to deliver cost-effective operations while minimising overtime.
Promote a strong safety culture by monitoring working practices, carrying out risk assessments, and ensuring the warehouse and welfare areas are kept to a high standard.
Handle shift planning, rosters, and staff management including holidays, timesheets, and training compliance.
Significant experience in warehouse, logistics, freight, or air cargo operations, ideally within a high-volume environment.
Solid understanding of health and safety and regulatory compliance.
