Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this full-time position will be to: Direct health department social work programs in health care and community-based settings for children and their families; Promote the maximum utilization of existing services and for additional or expanded services; Assure the quality of those services and for additional or expanded services; and Assure the quality of those services through staff development, supervision and oversight.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers. Experience: Seven years ofexperience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university. At least three years of the experience must have involved the direction of a clinical services program/unit or the supervision ofSocial Workers with Master\'s degrees. Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military serviceexperience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as acommissioned officer in Social Work classifications or SocialWork specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology, andWelfare field of work on a year-for-year basis for the requiredexperience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess: Experience managing multiple DCHD programs Experience writing and managing multiple grants and funding sources Experience as liaison with community partners and program leadership, locally and at State level

1. Candidates must be licensed as a Certified Social Worker-Clinical by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have the license may also apply pending receipt of the required license. When the license is obtained, submit a copy to the Maryland Department of HealthTesting unit. 2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
