Support Worker Tova, Ravenswood, Berkshire About the Role Were looking for committed Support Workers to join the team at Tova, a specialist residential home within Ravenswood Village, supporting adults with complex neurodevelopmental needs. Youll play a key role in delivering person-centred care and helping people live safe, fulfilling, and independent lives. Youll join a strong, supportive team, where the work you do really matters. About Tova Tova is a single-storey home based within the Ravenswood Estate, supporting seven adults aged 20s to 60s with severe learning disabilities, epilepsy, and in some cases, dementia and physical support needs.Most residents use non-verbal communication such as Makaton, objects of reference, facial expressions, and body movements. Building strong, personalised relationships is essential. People in Tova enjoy active lives with interests like swimming, sensory sessions, music, baking, gardening, drives out, holidays, and more. All require high levels of support including 1:1 and 2:1 assistance with personal care, moving and positioning, and community outings. Your Day-to-Day will include: Your role will be varied and active. Youll: Support people with their personal routines including personal care and meal preparation Encourage independence through life skills like budgeting, shopping and social outings Help people enjoy hobbies and interests: swimming, music, arts and outdoor activities Accompany residents to health appointments and trips out Work closely with our Physical Activity Practitioner, including in the hydrotherapy pool Contribute to household tasks and maintain a welcoming home environment Use a range of communication methods (Makaton, objects of reference, non-verbal cues) Drive the home vehicle for activities and appointments (if youre a driver with a full UK driving licence) Experience, Qualifications & Training Essential: Previous experience supporting adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities Confident using alternative communication methods Awareness of safeguarding practices Comfortable working in a hydrotherapy pool (no swimming required) Able to commit to full-time hours, including weekends Desirable: Experience supporting individuals with epilepsy and/or dementia Training in Emergency First Aid, Moving and Handling, Medication Administration Experience with PEG feeding Full, clean UK driving licence If youre values-led and eager to learn, we also offer paid training and qualifications in Health & Social Care (Level 25).
