Brief Description
Do you have a passion for Employee Relations and are looking for a role that will allow you flexibility and autonomy and work in a team that seeks to constantly improve our approach to Employee Relations?
This is a great opportunity to be working as part of the small Employee Relations team, working closely with HR Direct (outsourced provider) delivering professional and expert advice & support to HR colleagues and line managers.
We are working towards a proactive approach, using ER data to drive performance improvement and service delivery. You will also be working with legal teams to ensure that any advice reflects best practice/legislation. Part of your role will be ensuring that any learnings are shared and implemented.
About The Role (External)
Some of the key duties and responsibilities of your role will include: -
* Providing coaching, guidance and support to enable line managers and the wider HR team to develop pragmatic and business focussed solutions, balanced with policy application and employment legislation.
* Building strong relationships with HRBP and other stakeholders including our outsourced provider, HR Direct and our legal teams to deliver and improve performance.
* Using data to identify trends, issues and propose solutions to the Head of HR.
* Working with the legal teams supporting in Employment Tribunal and Early Conciliations.
* Working proactively with HR team to identify knowledge/development gaps and provide ER upskilling and development.
About You
You will have the following mandatory skills/experience:
* A proven track record dealing with numerous and complex Employee Relations cases, up to and including Employment Tribunals, within a large complex organisation.
* Proven experience of coaching and influencing line managers, you will need to be able to clearly articulate options, solutions and respond to robust challenge.
* Proven experience of using data to implement best practice HR solutions to improve employee relations.
* In depth knowledge of Employment Law and HR Knowledge and how to apply in practice (CIPD qualified or relevant experience to demonstrate level of competence is a requirement for the role).
* The ability to navigate through a variety of terms and conditions and HR policies.
* Capability to establish professional credibility quickly and challenge when needed
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience of working in a unionised environment will be advantageous but isn’t a necessity.
* Experience of developing and delivering upskilling sessions will be advantageous but the capability to develop this skill is essential.
