The post holder will provide an accessible, person centred effective school nursing service for vulnerable school aged children who have been identified as being at risk and requiring additional support. This will be achieved by working in partnership with children, young people, families, carers and partner agencies.
A continuous focus on prevention, early intervention and support will prevail and concentrate on the ten priority areas under overarching themes of vulnerable children and families, mental health and wellbeing, and risk taking behaviours.
The post holder will work within a team but will be responsible for a caseload and function as an autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, expertise, experience and proficiency.
Responsibilities
* Provide an accessible, person centred effective school nursing service for vulnerable school aged children identified as at risk and requiring additional support.
* Work in partnership with children, young people, families, carers and partner agencies.
* Contribute to prevention, early intervention and support across the ten priority areas under the themes of vulnerable children and families, mental health and wellbeing, and risk taking behaviours.
* Possess caseload management and autonomous practitioner responsibilities within a team setting.
* Engage with external queries and coordinate care appropriately.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Register and comply with necessary professional standards (PVG Scheme may be required).
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently as needed, with in-depth knowledge and proficiency in school nursing.
* Strong communication and partnership working with children, young people, families, carers and partner agencies.
