The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Department Manager to lead a high‑performing production team within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You will drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality operations while developing and engaging your people. With 24/7 accountability for your area, you will play a key role in delivering operational excellence, customer satisfaction and sustainable performance improvements.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage Production Area Managers across multiple shift patterns, setting clear and achievable performance goals.
* Take full ownership of all people processes including performance management, employee relations, and engagement initiatives.
* Drive training and development across the department, including skills matrices, SOP implementation and closing capability gaps.
* Oversee recruitment, succession planning and organisational development to build a strong talent pipeline.
* Foster a positive, high‑performance culture through effective communication, engagement tools and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience in a manufacturing or production leadership role.
* Strong people management capability, including coaching, performance management and employee relations.
* Experience in training development, process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Confident in handling complex HR matters including disciplinary and grievance processes.
* Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
