D365 Lead Functional Consultant – Finance Location: UK Remote Type: Fixed-term / Project Assignment Role Overview The D365 Lead Functional Consultant for Finance will play a key role in the Highlander Programme, responsible for the design, implementation, and optimisation of financial modules within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). This position requires close collaboration with business teams and our global programme team to ensure local tax, legal, and fiscal requirements are captured and translated into effective solutions. The consultant will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for D365 Finance, guiding local resources through the implementation process of our global solution and localisations during each deployment. The consultant will serve as the subject matter expert in D365 finance and play a critical role in project delivery, ensuring the seamless integration of Dynamics 365 into business operations. Working closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, developers, and project managers this role is pivotal to ensure that solutions align with business objectives, technical standards, local regulatory requirements and our global solution design. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and a deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics D365 across finance modules in a manufacturing environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and proven experience in leading teams is essential. The D365 Lead Functional Consultant for finance will take ownership of all aspects of the D365 Solution for the finance modules. Responsibilities: Lead one or many local implementations from a finance perspective though all programme phases Collaborate with business units to aid their adoption of the global financial processes and alleviate pain points. Provide expert knowledge in financial modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash and Bank Management, and Budgeting. Work closely with business stakeholders, Global Process Owners, technical teams, developers, and other consultants to ensure seamless solution delivery. Deliver training on D365 functionality as required throughout the Highlander deployment to ensure system adoption. Ensure all deliverables meet programme requirements and adhere to best practices and industry standards. Participate as required in the programme Design Authority and provide expert advice and guidance to aid decision-making. Stay updated on the latest Dynamics 365 features, updates, and industry trends to drive innovation and efficiency in financial operations. Requirements: Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) or AX, with a strong focus on financial modules. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance certification preferred. Strong expertise in configuring and customising Dynamics 365 Finance modules. Good knowledge of Azure DevOps; familiarity with other complementary Microsoft tools is an advantage. Understanding of data entities associated with finance modules. In-depth knowledge of financial processes and accounting principles. Experience with workflows, reporting tools, and financial consolidation tools within D365. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within deadlines. Strong problem-solving abilities, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
