Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with flexibility to work as few as 12 hours for those who need.

About the role
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road we deliver from Lands’ End to John O’Groats and meet customers in their homes every day. This role is more than just driving – it’s about helping others and delivering great service with a smile.
Responsibilities
 * Ensure van and trays are clean, tidy and organised.
 * Leave the back yard clean, clear of rubbish and pick up litter as you see it.
 * Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
 * Load the van as required and check it for roadworthiness.
 * Talk to customers about changes to their order, including short codes, substitutions and offer refunds for any items they are unhappy with.
 * Take care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
 * Explain to customers that they will not be charged for substitutions.
 * Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
 * Call the customer before arriving early.
 * Call the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
 * Work “hands‑on, physical and full of variety”; no two shifts are the same. You will feel like your own boss while a team of managers and colleagues at base support you.
Requirements
 * Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and ensure the store is the best for customers.
 * Be warm and welcoming in interactions, taking time to understand the customer and say thank you.
 * Act quickly to respond to changing needs and embrace change within the store.
 * Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work.
 * Share ideas with your manager and colleagues to improve the store for customers.
 * Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
