Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
Up to £53,895 + Excellent Benefits | Permanent | Hybrid (2 days in office)
Peterborough is a city on the rise, and its legal team is at the heart of that transformation. As a Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer, you’ll use your legal expertise to deliver high-value, high-impact work that helps shape a thriving, forward-looking community.
We’re particularly keen to hear from lawyers with local authority or wider public sector experience, who understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with major regeneration schemes, complex procurement processes, and delivering services that truly matter.
What You’ll Do
* Draft and negotiate multi-million-pound contracts (up to £10m)
* Provide clear, practical advice on procurement law and ensure compliance across large-scale projects
* Support regeneration schemes, leisure facilities, and infrastructure developments that benefit the whole city
* Handle grant funding, subsidy control, and GDPR issues in commercial contexts
* Collaborate closely with finance, procurement, ICT, and delivery teams

What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx Fellow
* Strong background in commercial contracts, ideally within or alongside the public sector
* Understanding of procurement law and public sector compliance requirements
* Knowledge of grant funding, subsidy control, or GDPR (desirable but not essential)
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
